We began back in 1979 as a small shop on NorthStar Road, building custom furniture and the occasional entry door. We soon realized that the demand for custom doors began to outpace that of furniture and so decided to guide their fledgling business towards specializing in crafting fine wood doors.
In 1988 the company moved into a larger shared facility and incorporated. About this time, the company was building mostly entry doors, generally for customers in the local area, but following the move and expanded workspace the company quickly grew to fill it, producing doors for the entire home and reaching out into a much larger geographic region.
We eventually outgrew that facility and in 2001 were able to move into our own building, enabling us to maximize efficiency and leap into the future prepared for what greater projects lie ahead. |

We join the ancient art of woodworking with 20th century technology and materials to build doors of timeless beauty at a realistic price. We hope to share with you what our years of door making experience have taught us.
Since we are truly a custom door manufacturer, we have not attempted to catalog a list of door designs. Rather, we have shown just a few examples of various door types. We do often become involved in the design process and can offer a broad resource for your design needs. Nothing except our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction is etched in stone. And while we realize we are not alone when it comes to building doors, we believe that knowing something, and doing it well, are two very different things. |
"NorthStar WoodWorks is professional in approach, cooperative in demeanor, meticulous in detail and dependable in the delivery of their product. In short, they are unlike any other millwork contractor that our firm has dealt with. NorthStar is positive and solution oriented."

Using modern machinery combined with time-tested traditional machinery and techniques, we have built our reputation for quality.
Our construction methods employ mortise and tenon joinery and veneers over solid engineered core. This gives long life, improved stability, and color and grain matching that would otherwise be impossible with solid wood. As an added bonus, but a very important component to these methods, we stretch our natural resources. We all want beautiful wood but also know we have a responsibility to preserve and manage our forests. Because using veneers requires much less material, we honestly contribute to that end. back to top |

Order size and project location will influence our manner of shipping. Either container, nose loading a trailer, or crating, we spend a great deal of attention in this area to be absolutely certain our products arrive in the same, perfect, condition they leave our shop in. Screw, band, block, or tie, we're prepared. back to top "I have worked closely with NorthStar Woodworks for many years. I have been continually impressed with their level of professionalism, craftsmanship, detail, artistry, and technique. On each level, I can think of many examples that stand out in my mind.
As a builder of the highest end custom homes in the area, I don't feel that my projects are complete without at least a front entry from NorthStar. I know that each customer who has included NorthStar in their project would agree, and would gladly recommend NorthStar with as much praise and pride as I do.
I have always looked up to the people at NorthStar Woodworks and considered them the leaders in the woodworking business."
